Dr. David L. Friedman has practiced optometry for more than 40 years, specializing in contact lenses,
particularly the more challenging, complicated cases. He was a clinical optometrist at the MIT Medical Department from 1974-1976 and has practiced in Westford, MA since then, earning a reputation for being both sensitive to his patients' needs and knowledgeable about the latest developments in his field. He has served on the board of directors of Vision Service Plan and currently serves on the advisory panel for Tufts Health Plan.
Dr. Friedman has also co-authored a manual on the affect computers have on the eyes and has lectured and been interviewed by the media for his expertise on vision problems, kids' vision, and contact lenses.
Dr. Meryl Gray Hunter has been with Gateway Vision since 2013. She is a graduate of the New England College of Optometry. As an active member of both the American Optometric Association and the Massachusetts Society of Optometry, Dr. Hunter has stayed on the cutting edge of the latest technologies and research in eye care and health. Dr. Hunter works closely with ophthalmologists co-managing patients with diabetes, glaucoma, cataracts and refractive surgery. Her caring manner is especially helpful when working with children. Dr. Hunter is also an expert in fitting contacts. Much like Dr. Friedman, she has experience fitting difficult contact lenses including multifocal and astigmatic lenses. Eye Doctor Westford, MA
